New year, new group!

Well everyone, it's official - we've received our charter from the Crochet Guild of America.  Our formal charter name is Inland Empire Crochet Club.  We are legit, people!  With this new year and official charter, let's get this group off to a bit more, ahem, professional start.  I am really looking for input from you, the members, as to how you would like to see this group evolve.

There are some things that I know I would be looking forward to:
1.  I would love to see more involvement by more members each month.  To this end, I would really like the more experienced crocheters to step forward and be willing to teach a skill, technique, short pattern, or something unique each month.  We just need one per month.
2.  I would love to see us take a field trip to see something crochet- or yarn-related.  Maybe a fiber festival, or perhaps the fiber arts exhibit at one of the county fairs.  If you hear of something coming up, please let us know.
3.  I would love to see us affiliate ourselves with one or two charities.  We have a gift and I would love to see us share it with those who really need it.  We can all nominate a favorite and vote at some point early this year, hopefully in March.
4.  I would love to see us grow as a group and get the word out to other crocheters.  We are all passionate about this craft; let's spread the love!

Anyway, these are just a few suggestions.  If you have any, PLEASE let me know.  Note that I will *try* to keep this blog and our group on Ravelry as up to date as possible.

Thanks everyone!

Amy

  2. I can't wait to get started learning new things. I'll be more accountable to start and finish things coming each month. One thing I got for Christmas is a subscription to Crochet Today! Can't wait for this magazine to start coming to help with those ideas!

  3. You might post a link to this blog in the forum you created on Ravelry.

Also, maybe post a discussion where people can tell about their current projects?
